Svalbard is a wonderful place to shoot, partly because it is quite unique, but surprisingly also because it is well connected and well set up for filming. Much of the BBC Frozen Planet was based here and it is where orcas spy hopping was first filmed. No matter which way you pointed the camera there was a shot to be made and with long twilight it meant golden hours! Producing this was fun with the help of some sound local facilitators the shoot was great. Who doesn’t love going to amazing places and shooting amazing landscapes?
